Leaderboards
Watch the lead change.
Every competition has a leaderboard that moves when your friends sync. Pick one of eight ways to score, and everyone plays by the same rule.
Every MoveTogether competition has its own leaderboard. When someone’s activity syncs from Apple Health or Health Connect, our servers score the day again and the board reorders. Switch between All time and Today, and arrows show who moved. The host picks one of eight scoring methods, and the same rule scores everyone in it.
Know where you stand
Open a competition and the top card tells you how many points you need to catch the person ahead, and who is chasing you. Below it sit a podium for the top three and the full leaderboard, with each person’s rings for today and when they last synced.
Eight ways to score
The host picks one when creating the competition. Our servers score everyone from their synced activity, by the same rule.
Ring Close Count
1 point for each ring you close: Move, Exercise and Steps. Up to 3 a day.
Head to Head
Highest total wins. Pick steps, calories or exercise minutes. In a private competition, Sleep is a fourth choice: 1 point per minute asleep from a wearable, up to 9 hours a day.
Sleep: Member or Pro to host
Workout Count
1 point a day for a workout over 15 minutes, or more than 15 exercise minutes. The host can add a finish line.
Percentage of Goals
1 point for every 1% of each ring you fill, counting up to 100% per ring. Up to 300 a day.
Total Activity
1 point per calorie, 1 per exercise minute and 1 per 100 steps, all in one total.
Personal Goal
The host sets a range and each person picks their own daily goal inside it. Hit yours for 100 points, reach half for 50.
Member or Pro to host
Stick To It
One daily goal for everyone. 1 point for every day you hit it, and a missed day costs nothing.
Member or Pro to host
Distance
1 point per meter of recorded runs, or runs and walks. Two copies of the same run count once, and the host can set a target to qualify.
Joining a competition with any of these is free.
Ties and off days
Ties share the win
Equal scores share a rank. When people or teams tie for first, they all win, and a round where nobody scored has no winner.
Best days
On Total Activity, or Head to Head on steps, calories or minutes, the host can drop each person’s worst few days so only their best days count. Member or Pro to host.
Questions
How often does the leaderboard update?
Whenever someone’s activity syncs. Each row shows when that person last synced, so you can tell who has not synced yet today.
What does Today show?
Today ranks everyone by the points they scored today. All time shows the whole competition.
What happens on a tie?
Equal scores share a rank. If the tie is for first when the round ends, everyone tied wins, and for teams every member of every tied team wins.
Which scoring methods need a paid plan?
Hosting Personal Goal, Stick To It, a Sleep race or Best days takes a Member or Pro plan. The other methods are free to host.
