Ring Close Count
Definition
A MoveTogether competition scoring method that awards a fixed number of points each time a participant closes an Activity Ring (Move, Exercise, or Steps). Three rings closed in a day = three ring closes. Simple, binary, derived from Apple's ring model.
How MoveTogether uses it.
Ring Close Count is one of five MoveTogether scoring methods. It's the most accessible — anyone who can read Apple's rings can read the leaderboard. It rewards consistency over volume: closing your rings every day at modest goals beats closing them once at heroic goals.
Ring Close Count works best when everyone in the competition has roughly comparable daily goals. For mixed-fitness-level groups, Percentage of Goals tends to be fairer.
