Percentage of Goals
Definition
A MoveTogether competition scoring method that scores each participant by how completely they hit their own daily activity goals — Move, Exercise, and Steps. The fairest method when competitors have very different fitness levels, because the math compares each person to their own targets.
How MoveTogether uses it.
Percentage of Goals is MoveTogether's flagship 'cross-fitness-level' scoring method. A beginner with a 5,000-step goal who hits 5,000 scores the same as a marathon trainer with a 15,000-step goal who hits 15,000. Effort relative to your own targets is what counts.
MoveTogether recommends Percentage of Goals for mixed-device groups specifically — it sidesteps the fact that different wearables measure things slightly differently (WHOOP has no steps, Strava is workout-only, etc.). Everyone competes against their own goal completion rate.
It's also the recommendation when group fitness levels vary widely (parents and teenagers, beginners and athletes).
