Past You Ghost
Definition
A row on every MoveTogether leaderboard representing your personal best for the equivalent week, racing you as if it were a live competitor. Even in a solo competition, the Past You Ghost gives you someone to compete against.
How MoveTogether uses it.
Past You Ghost appears on every active competition leaderboard, with distinct styling so it's recognizable at a glance. Your current week is compared against your best historical equivalent (e.g., 'best Monday-through-Sunday week'). If you've never logged a comparable week, the ghost is the best Monday-through-Sunday week MoveTogether has on record for you.
The goal is to make solo competitions meaningful, you can always race the version of yourself who showed up on a good week. It's also a useful subtle motivator in friend competitions, because losing to your own past self lands differently than losing to a friend.
Past You Ghost is a Pro feature. The comparison is always like for like, a Monday-to-Sunday week against your best Monday-to-Sunday week, so a partial week never flatters either side. Early on, when MoveTogether holds only a few weeks of your history, the ghost is easy to beat and works mainly as a baseline. It gets harder as your record fills in, which is the intended arc: the better your best week was, the more it asks of you next time. And if racing yourself is not motivating, it is one leaderboard row you can ignore without affecting anything else.

MoveTogether is free on the App Store. Connect a wearable (or just your iPhone) and start your first competition this week.
