Distance
Definition
A MoveTogether competition scoring method that ranks people by the distance of their recorded runs, or runs and walks if the host includes them. Every meter is a point.
How MoveTogether uses it.
Distance counts recorded workouts only, not the steps you take around the house, so a long day on your feet does not add up to a run. The host picks runs only, or runs and walks. The leaderboard can show miles, kilometers, or points, and the ranking is the same either way.
The host can also set a target, like 2 miles a week, met as a total or in one go, every day, every week, or over the whole competition. Hitting it marks you as qualified. It does not change your points or your place.
The same run often lands twice, once from your watch and once from Strava. Workouts that overlap in time count once. Distance is free to host, and runs from any device count once they sync to Apple Health or Health Connect.

MoveTogether is on the App Store and Google Play. Bring any device that syncs to Apple Health or Health Connect, or just your phone, and start your first competition this week.
